Fasting Journal 20: Best laid plans
A few times during this Time Restricted Feeding experiment, I've been unable to eat within my designated window. That is 2-3 hours after waking and no later than 6:00pm.
There have been no issues with the first part of the day but the last meal of the day has been a challenge. And let's face it, life is not always going to be accommodating.
The perfectionist part of me wants to have a tantrum when I can't follow my plans 100%. But I've come to realize that no matter how well I plan things and how great my intentions are, sometimes things don't line up.
Most days I've been able to eat my last meal before 6:00pm. But there have been a few where I couldn't. People dropping in, BBQ that took forever to get lit, coming home later than anticipated and well, you get the idea. It probably happens to you too!
There was a time I would have been very disappointed and tossed
in the towel at the slightest deviation from a set plan. That "all or nothing"
attitude. If I can't do this perfectly
then what's the point?
It's with great relief I no longer operate that way. It's much too stressful and makes me cranky. And who likes to be cranky or hang around
with someone who's cranky? Right?
So the experiment continues with the odd little timing issues. I did promise you a completely honest look into my journal. And so there it is.
